About Lithium
Lithium optimizes the parts of Minecraft that run every tick: physics, mob AI, block ticking and chunk loading. The goal is the same game, run faster.
It works on clients and servers and needs no setup.
Configuration
Lithium has no settings screen. Advanced users can disable specific optimizations in config/lithium.properties.
Compatibility
Minecraft versions with at least one release on Modrinth, synced 2026-11-07. Always download the file that names your exact version and loader.

Install on NeoForge

- Download the Lithium file for your exact Minecraft version and NeoForge from an official source.
- Put the
.jarfiles in themodsfolder of your game directory or instance. - Launch the NeoForge profile. Check the Mods menu to confirm Lithium loaded.
Install on Fabric

Common problems and fixes
A redstone or farm build behaves differently.
Lithium aims to keep vanilla behaviour. If you find a difference, report it on its issue tracker; individual optimizations can be turned off in its config.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use Lithium with Sodium?
Yes. Sodium improves rendering and Lithium improves game logic, so they complement each other.
Does it help on servers?
Yes. Most of its gains are in ticking, which matters most on servers.
